The Foo Fighters have announced their 12th studio album, Your Favorite Toy, set for release on April 24 via Roswell/RCA Records. To kick things off with maximum energy, the band has unleashed the album’s title track, “Your Favorite Toy”, as the new lead single—complete with a lyric video that’s already lighting up YouTube and streaming platforms.

This marks the first major new music from the Foo Fighters since their 2023 emotional powerhouse But Here We Are, and it arrives following months of teases. Late last month, frontman Dave Grohl casually let slip during a live show that the band had wrapped recording on a new record. That breadcrumb trail led to subtle website hints in recent days—snippets of riffs and cryptic visuals posted online—before today’s full reveal.

“Your Favorite Toy” itself is a taut, electrifying hard rocker clocking in around three minutes. It blends the band’s signature driving guitars with a punchy rhythm section, touches of Seventies glitter-metal flair, and power-pop catchiness that Grohl and company have honed over decades. Grohl’s raspy vocals cut through lines like “Get back, hear that boy? Someone threw away your favorite toy for good,” delivering that classic mix of raw attitude and melodic hooks. In a press statement, Grohl described the track as pivotal: “‘Your Favorite Toy’ really was the key that unlocked the tone and energetic direction of the new album. It was the fuse to the powder keg of songs we wound up recording.”

The album was co-produced by the Foo Fighters themselves alongside Oliver Roman, and much of it was recorded at home—keeping that intimate, band-in-a-room feel. Your Favorite Toy features 10 tracks total, including the previously released single “Asking for a Friend” from late 2025. Here’s the full tracklist:

  1. Caught in the Echo
  2. Of All People
  3. Window
  4. Your Favorite Toy
  5. If You Only Knew
  6. Spit Shine
  7. Unconditional (Additional tracks include others teased in announcements, rounding out to 10.)

The release comes at an exciting time for the band. New drummer Ilan Rubin (formerly of Nine Inch Nails) makes his full studio debut here following his integration into the lineup. Fans can already pre-order or pre-save the album through the official Foo Fighters site, with vinyl, CD, and digital options available.

Early reactions online have been electric—social media and forums are buzzing with praise for the single’s immediacy and rock drive, with many calling it a return to the high-octane Foo energy that defined classics like The Colour and the Shape or Wasting Light. One fan summed it up: “This should have been the first single for the album! I’m hoping the new album will be super rocky!”

With the album dropping just weeks before major festival appearances (including Welcome to Rockville in early May), 2026 is shaping up to be a big year for the Foos. Stream “Your Favorite Toy” now on your preferred platform, crank it loud, and mark your calendar for April 24—the Foo Fighters are back in full force.
