As the sun dipped below the horizon on a crisp September evening at the Chesterfield Amphitheater, the air buzzed with anticipation for Big Love: A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac.
This St. Louis-based ensemble, formed in 2014, has built a reputation for channeling the spirit of one of rock’s most iconic bands.
With doors opening at 6:00 PM and the show kicking off around 7:30 PM after a solid opener from special guest Celia.
Food trucks like Theo’s Gyros and my personal fave, Doughboy’s Pizza, added to the festive vibe, serving up quick bites that paired perfectly with the laid-back atmosphere.
Big Love took the stage with the precision of seasoned pros, their lineup of local St. Louis talent nailing the harmonies and guitar riffs that define Fleetwood Mac. The setlist was a dream for Fleetwood Mac fans and Big Love put on a heatfelt, high-energy performance from start to finish.
What elevated the night was the band’s great chemistry and they were having just as much fun as the crowd. The amphitheater’s natural reverb amplified the crowd’s participation, turning it into a communal sing-along under the stars.
The Lafayette High School Lancers marching band joined the band for the final two songs, ‘Tusk’ and ‘Don’t Stop’, akin to USC joining Fleetwood Mac for same songs in 1979.
