On September 19th, Macklemore was announced as a headliner of the inaugural Neon City Festival… he has now been dropped from the lineup of the Las Vegas event due to “unforeseen circumstances.”

The change comes after his September 21st comment, “Fuck America,” while on stage performing at a pro-Palestinian benefit concert called Palestine Will Live Forever. As shown in video below, the remark drew applause from the Seattle audience.

Macklemore has been a vocal supporter of Palestine in the past and has criticized U.S. leaders for the country’s support of Israel.

The Neon City Festival will now be headlined by DJ Alison Wonderland, rock band Neon Trees, singer-songwriter Russell Dickerson and DJ Seven Lions. The festival is scheduled to run from Nov. 22-24.
