From the moment the curtain dropped, it was evident that Eric Church knows how to put on a show!
I’ve never seen Muscadine Bloodline (my favorite), Travis Tritt, or Eric Church before but I would 100% make time to see all three perform again.
Eric Church started the show with much pomp and flair. After the “Chief’s” curtain dropped the audience knew we were in for a “revival” as the headliner called it. He entered as a figure in the light between two doors the height of center stage after hooded figures hoisted up the Missouri flag center stage.
The setlist channeled every era of Church. The artist took us through the highs and lows singing radio favorites such as “Heart on Fire”, “Creepin'”, “Round Here Buzz”, and “Give Me Back My Hometown”. The show was mixed with die-hard fan favorites like “Country Music Jesus”, “Some a Little Smoke” and “Hell of a View”. If you had only heard him on the radio, you were happy. If you never missed an album release you were in heaven!
Church wasn’t the only part of the show that was electric, the band members and backup singers (woo they were good!) had quite a few moves of their own. At no point did any part of the stage settle down. He played about a two-hour show and just when the band might’ve thought they were done but came back for an outstanding rendition of “Springsteen” before Church closed out the night with his phenomenal cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” which gave me (and the rest of the crowd) goosebumps.
Overall, he picked the right crowd warmers and made an unforgettable entrance & exit. Still can’t get the saying that was on all the signs “Good girls go to church!”
