Omar Apollo brought soul to St. Louis

Omar Apollo played to a stacked crowd on Thursday night at The Pageant.  Playing soulful R&B tracks from his latest album, it seemed like every fan screamed every word to every song.  (My ears are literally still ringing.)

Ravyn Lenae warmed up the crowd with a healthy set of beautifully melodic soul and R&B vibe.  Liken her soft tones to that of a perfect pitch songbird; smooth, yet lively as hell.  She owned the stage and sang her heart out to every fan enthusiastically singing along.

The much anticipated entrance of Omar Apollo commenced just after 8:45 and he wasted no time giving fans exactly what they came for.

The crowd was packed with die hard fans of the Mexican-American gent as he played a mix of his songs sung in English, as well as Spanish.  Yet, his fans didn’t miss a beat and still sang along to every song.

Apollo’s stage show,  presence, and swagger was spectacular, to say the least, until the very end as he exited stage left after encore, leaving his fans wanting even more.
