The Cardinals have traded SS Edmundo Sosa to the Philadelphia Phillies for left-handed reliever JoJo Romero.
Sosa was out of options, Romero still has one.
In 21.2 major league innings, Romero has allowed 21 runs (19 earned). Romero, 25, was the Phillies 4th round selection in the 2016 Major League draft out of Yapavai (AZ) College.
Romero will report to Memphis (AAA).
Expect Paul DeJong to be activated from taxi squad today and be active for tonight’s game.
