The Struts’ Strange Days are Over Tour landed with all the glitz and glam at The Pageant in St. Louis Tuesday night.
The British rockers, currently halfway through the U.S. leg of their tour took to the stage just after 9 p.m. by launching into “Primadonna Like Me” to the delight of a sequin-filled crowd of die-hard fans.
The Struts landed big before their first album release in 2014 by opening for The Rolling Stones in Paris. Ever since they’ve been bringing their high-energy glam-rock to the masses and continue to grow fans every year.Â
Styled in a ruffled top, blue sequined boots, and face sequins, vocalist Luke Spiller asked, “Did you miss us?” He then started a brief call & response:Â
Spiller, “When our eyes meet”Â
Crowd, “oh yeah”
“You’re nice and loud tonight,” Spiller said before the band performed the fan-favorite “Put Your Money on Me.”
Supporting their 2020 release, Strange Days, the band did perform a small handful of songs from the album including “I Hate How Much I Want You” and “Strange Days.”Â
It’s hard to pin Spiller down as he’s constantly all over the stage, strutting, sliding, even adding in the occasional high kick. But slow down he did. At least for “Low Key in Love” (although he was still shaking his hips) and during the acoustic versions of “Mary Go Round” and “Maggie.”
It won’t be long before The Struts are playing much bigger venues, which will be much deserved. But right now, you can still see them relatively up close and personal which makes for an even more spectacular evening.Â

Atlanta-based glitter punk rock ’n’ roll Starbenders, who’ve been around almost as long as The Struts opened the night to a growing crowd. They’re playing the majority of this tour and supporting their 2020 second full-length album Love Potions. Watching this hard-hitting, fast-paced band, might have you thinking you’re in the middle of a Rocky Horror-type of scenario. Songs included “Hangin’ On Tonight,” “Death by Amplifier,” and “Getting Harder.”
