Saint Louis freshman guard Gibson Jimerson will be out for the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on his right foot.

Jimerson suffered the injury during practice on Monday, Dec. 16. Dr. Scott Kaar, the Billikens’ head team physician and orthopaedic surgeon in the SLUCare Physician Group, performed the surgery.

The expected timetable for return for an athlete with a similar type of injury is 10-12 weeks. Jimerson was advised that he is expected to make a full recovery and should be able to resume basketball related activities in the offseason.

Jimerson averaged 10.8 ppg in 10 games during his freshman season, shooting 42.9 percent from 3-point range.
