Tokyo-based J-pop stars Travis Japan return with their new single “EGO,” an upbeat track that serves as the theme song for TV drama ‘Hadakanbou-tachi’, starring member Genta Matsuda. “EGO” is an upbeat, dance-driven track that puts a modern spin on the theatrical flair of 1920s jazz, pairing with a slick pop production built for Travis Japan’s performance style. That energy carries into the accompanying dance video, where the seven members take over a striking monochromatic burgundy world dressed in matching suits, trading vocals as their choreography takes center stage. Strobing lights and increasingly dramatic visuals build alongside the track before the group takes the performance into the rain for a full-scale, quintessential boy-band finale. WATCH HERE “EGO” will appear on Travis Japan’s forthcoming fourth studio album, Jewelry Basket, arriving November 18 via Universal Music Japan / Capitol Records. Conceived by member Shizu (Shizuya Yoshizawa), the album draws inspiration from the timeless spirit of “classic idol entertainment,” celebrating the music, dance, personality and showmanship at the heart of Travis Japan. Its concept imagines each of the seven members as a different jewel, bringing their individual personalities together in one colorful collection. The new music arrives during another big year for Travis Japan, who continue to grow their presence both in Japan and internationally. Their first three studio albums have each reached No. 1 across Billboard JAPAN’s Top Albums Sales, Hot Albums and Download Albums charts, including 2025’s ‘s travelers, which marked their third consecutive album to achieve the triple No. 1 distinction. Earlier this year, the group also gave international audiences a more personal look at their story with the Disney+ travel docuseries Travis Japan: Summer Vacation!! in the USA.
