Diamante has released the official music video for “Cool Down,” the latest single from her Sumerian Records run, putting a visual frame on a track that has already been circulating since Sept. 22.

The video premiered Thursday, Oct. 1, on the Sumerian Records YouTube channel. It was directed by Grace Stromatt for No Storage Productions, shot at Studio-ism, and cut by editor Sabra Stratton, with color from Christopher Medina and visual effects by Fernanda Vega. Alexander Atallah handled director of photography. Hair and makeup were by Hanako, and styling was by Anastasia Larae. On screen with Diamante are drummer Aviv Cohen, guitarist Cyamak Ashtiani, and bassist Matthew Denis, with Rob Luedtke credited as the figure in the piece.

“Cool Down” is built around a relationship that has gone past the point of easy repair. The lyric opens on a slammed car door and a thrown phone, then settles into a repeated warning: keep your cool before something is said that cannot be taken back. “We got too much to lose now” is the line the chorus keeps returning to, set against a ride-or-die history that no longer matches the temperature in the room. By the bridge, the narrator has stopped bargaining. “There’s nothing I can do to calm you down / At the point of no return with no way out.” The vocal stays controlled while the arrangement pushes harder underneath it, which is the point of the record. The heat is in the story, not in the delivery.

That tension fits the lane Diamante has been working since signing with Sumerian in 2025. “1987” and “All For The Glory” leaned into the 1980s glamour she has made a signature, and “Silver Bullet” carried the same visual ambition. “Cool Down” sits next to the more recent “Bite of the Beast” as another step in that sequence, less nostalgia exercise than a contemporary rock single that still wears the era on its sleeve. Early comments on the video have already latched onto the set, with viewers comparing the location to a backrooms-style space, and onto the styling, which several singled out as part of the clip’s pull.

The single arrives after a busy year on the road. Diamante toured North America with labelmates I See Stars, sailed as a featured Stowaway on ShipRocked 2026, and played Louder Than Life in Louisville last month. That live calendar continues a stretch that has already included runs with Nita Strauss, Shinedown, The Pretty Reckless, Breaking Benjamin, and Three Days Grace, plus festival dates at Sonic Temple and Welcome to Rockville.

The catalog underneath the new single is already substantial. Her 2018 debut, Coming In Hot, was followed by American Dream, which included a widely played reworking of the Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris” with Ben Burnley of Breaking Benjamin. Outside the albums, she cut Pat Benatar’s “Love Is a Battlefield” for the American Psycho comic series soundtrack and joined Kittie and The Pretty Wild on a cover of Metallica’s “The Unforgiven” for the Queen of the Ring soundtrack.
