Stanley Simmons will make their St. Louis debut Monday, Oct. 12, bringing the Dancing While the World Is Ending Tour to the Duck Room at Blueberry Hill. Denver’s Velvet Daydream and Wentzville pop-rock trio Just A Blur open the night.
The duo — Evan Stanley and Nick Simmons, sons of KISS co-founders Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons — is touring behind its debut album, *Dancing While the World Is Ending*. The record was produced by Rob Cavallo (Green Day, Fleetwood Mac, Paramore) and sits well outside the hard-rock catalog attached to their last names. Harmonies, folk-rock arrangements, and ’60s-tinged psychedelia drive the set; singles including the title track, “Body Down,” “Cellophane,” and “Temporary Love” have already previewed the live show.
Doors at the Duck Room (6504 Delmar Blvd.) open at 7 p.m. Music runs 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. General admission is $21.55 in advance and $23.95 at the door. Cash purchases at Blueberry Hill are sold at face value with no added ticket fees.
Velvet Daydream, a Denver four-piece built around 1970s-style guitar rock and stage showmanship, is appearing on several dates of the run. Just A Blur — Tony Campanella, Anthony Manies, and Tim Lucas — add a local bill to the night after a fast rise on the strength of singles such as “Oh, Caroline” and their debut album *Songs From the Basement*.
