St. Louis CITY SC and one of the club’s proud partners, MERS Goodwill, are inviting CITY fans to give back to the St. Louis community on matchday. The two organizations are once again teaming up to host a donation drive at Energizer Park on Saturday, September 12, before the team takes on Minnesota United at 7:30 p.m. Fans can turn a little extra into a lot of good by dropping off new or gently used clothing, shoes and other small items at designated Goodwill donation points at the pre-match CITY Block Party and Energizer Park gates. (Note: Furniture and other large items will not be accepted.)
As an added incentive for fans who participate, everyone who makes a donation will receive 50% off tickets to a future St Louis CITY2 match.
Donations to MERS Goodwill, one of Missouri’s largest nonprofit organizations, help fund programs that connect individuals across the region with free job training, education programs, employment services and other resources. Energizer Park is located just a few blocks from Goodwill’s Downtown St. Louis Excel Center, an accredited tuition-free high school for adults and one of seven Excel Centers in the state.
“Matchday is about bringing people together, and this drive gives our fans another opportunity to make a meaningful impact beyond the pitch,” said Ken Earley, Director of Community Relations for St. Louis CITY SC. “We’re proud to work alongside MERS Goodwill to create a simple way for fans to give back and support those in need in our region.”
Goodwill is also the Presenting Partner of the September 12th match.
“We’re thrilled to partner with CITY SC to show our fans that giving back is just as important as the beautiful game,” said Mark Arens, President/CEO of MERS Goodwill. “Your donation directly supports job training and employment services for our neighbors in need.”
