St. Louis pop-punk fans are in for a strong night of nostalgia and new energy when In Her Own Words and Every Avenue co-headline the Perfectly Unfamiliar Tour at Off Broadway on Friday, October 16. Support comes from Chicago’s Fluorescents and local favorites Just A Blur. Doors open at 7 p.m., with the show starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $22 in advance and $25 at the door. The tour centers on the 10-year anniversary of In Her Own Words’ breakthrough 2016 album Unfamiliar. The Los Angeles band will perform the record in full, a first for the group. Vocalist Joey Fleming has noted that the songs, written as the band processed anxiety, heartbreak, and growing pains, continue to resonate deeply with fans a decade later. Known for honest songwriting and big, sing-along choruses, In Her Own Words have built a dedicated following through consistent releases and emotional connection. While celebrating the past, the band has also been working on a new full-length album expected later in 2026, positioning the tour as both a look back and a step forward.
Michigan’s Every Avenue return as co-headliners, bringing the sound that helped define the late-2000s Warped Tour era. The band, known for anthems like “Tell Me I’m a Wreck,” “Mindset,” and “Where Were You,” built a loyal following through multiple Warped Tour appearances and tours with acts including Boys Like Girls, The Summer Set, New Found Glory, and others. After years away, they are back with renewed momentum, new music plans, and a legacy run that pairs their nostalgic hits with the current pop-punk wave.
Chicago’s Fluorescents round out the bill with their hard-hitting post-pop-punk sound. The independent four-piece blends early-2000s pop-punk energy with 2010s easycore influences, delivering big choruses, multiple vocalists, and high-energy live sets. Their debut full-length Scream It At Me! (and its deluxe edition) has earned them a growing following through strong tracks and consistent touring.
Opening the night is Wentzville’s Just A Blur, a rising local three-piece that has quickly made a mark on the St. Louis scene. Formed by Tony Campanella (vocals/guitar), Anthony Manies (drums), and Tim Lucas (bass/vocals), the band mixes 1990s/2000s pop-punk with modern pop-rock hooks. Their 2026 debut album Songs From The Basement follows a string of well-received singles including “Oh, Caroline,” “I Wish You Had A Twin,” and “Happy Too.” Expect tight, energetic sets that already have local crowds singing along.
Off Broadway, located at 3509 Lemp Avenue in the Historic Cherokee Lemp District, remains one of St. Louis’ most reliable rooms for this kind of bill—intimate enough for connection, loud enough for the choruses to land. Presented by 1% Productions, the Perfectly Unfamiliar Tour stop offers a clear snapshot of where pop-punk has been and where it’s heading. Fans of the classic scene and newer voices alike should find plenty to cheer for on October 16.
