Slipknot’s longtime DJ and keyboardist Sid Wilson has been permanently dismissed from the band, according to a report from TMZ. A source close to the group with direct knowledge of the situation said Wilson was notified late Friday afternoon that his time with the Iowa metal outfit had come to an end.
No official reason for the decision has been disclosed by either Wilson or the band. Slipknot has not issued a statement as of this writing.
Wilson, known as #0, joined Slipknot in 1999 and was one of the original nine members who defined the group’s chaotic early sound and image. His turntable work, samples, atmospheric effects, and high-energy stage presence—often marked by aggressive stage dives and evolving gas-mask designs—became a signature element of the band’s live shows and recordings across nearly three decades.
His departure marks another major change in Slipknot’s lineup. Previous exits include percussionist Chris Fehn and sampler Craig Jones. Original bassist Paul Gray died in 2010, and founding drummer Joey Jordison passed away in 2021 after leaving the band in 2013.
The news arrives months after Wilson and Kelly Osbourne quietly ended their engagement in March 2026. The pair, who share a son, had been together for several years; sources at the time suggested a possible reconciliation remained open, though no connection has been drawn between the personal split and the band decision.
Wilson’s contributions helped shape Slipknot from their self-titled debut through albums including Iowa, Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses), All Hope Is Gone, .5: The Gray Chapter, We Are Not Your Kind, and The End, So Far. He also pursued side projects under the DJ Starscream moniker and contributed to the long-delayed Look Outside Your Window material.
As one of the last remaining members of the classic era still active in the band until now, Wilson’s exit leaves Slipknot further removed from its original nine-member configuration. The group has continued evolving its roster in recent years, including the addition of drummer Eloy Casagrande, and has been working on new material.
