St. Louis tribute band Not Topic has officially welcomed a new member to the fold. The group announced today that guitarist Dorian Dolore has joined the band.
“We would like to formally announce today that we are adding Dorian Dolore to our Not Topic family,” the band said in a statement. “He’ll be giving us some additional depth and heft with our wall of guitars!”
Fans won’t have to wait long to see the expanded lineup in action. Dolore will make his debut with Not Topic on Friday, August 28, at Broadway Oyster Bar in downtown St. Louis. The show marks exactly one month from the announcement.
“You don’t have to wait long for Dorian’s debut either! You can catch him with us on stage at Broadway Oyster Bar on August 28th!” the band continued. “For those keeping count, that’s one month from today!”
Not Topic has built a strong local following by delivering high-energy performances of early 2000s rock, emo, pop-punk, and scene favorites—think the soundtrack of a generation raised on Hot Topic, MySpace, and Warped Tour. Their live sets lean hard into the dual-guitar attack that defined so many of those anthems, and the addition of Dolore is clearly aimed at making that sound even bigger and more powerful.
The band expressed genuine enthusiasm about the new chapter. “We are so proud of Dorian and are super excited to have him as a part of our next chapter!”
The August 28 show at Broadway Oyster Bar is set for 8 p.m. to midnight with a $15 cover. Given Not Topic’s reputation for packing the room with nostalgic energy, expect a lively crowd ready to hear the newly fortified lineup tear through the early-2000s catalog.
For St. Louis fans of the era’s rock and emo classics, this looks like the start of a louder, heavier next chapter for one of the city’s most dedicated tribute acts.
