Wentzville’s rising pop-punk trio Just A Blur has officially released their debut full-length album, Songs From The Basement. The project landed on streaming platforms July 24, marking a major milestone for the band roughly one year after they first burst onto the scene.

The three-piece — Tony Campanella (vocals/guitar), Anthony Manies (drums), and Tim Lucas (bass/vocals) — formed during their high school days in the marching band at Holt High School. What started with persistent nudging from Tony and early gigs (including a set at Tony’s 16th birthday party) has grown into a steadily building local following. Their sound blends 90s/00s pop-punk energy with modern pop-rock hooks, delivering catchy, heartfelt tracks that feel both nostalgic and fresh.
The band built momentum with a string of singles that connected with listeners. Debut track “Oh, Caroline” (July 2025) introduced their knack for driving guitar riffs, tight rhythms, and soaring vocals centered on young love and storytelling. Follow-ups “I Wish You Had A Twin” and “How The Story Goes” kept the momentum going, while “Happy Too” arrived in June as a pre-album teaser. In their announcement, the band emphasized the DIY grind behind the record and thanked fans who streamed songs, bought merch, watched videos, or showed up to early shows: “We TRULY could not do this without the fans… you are the reason this is all happening.”
Songs From The Basement captures that grassroots spirit. The title nods to the kind of late-night, basement-level creativity that has defined the band’s early years. To celebrate the release, Just A Blur is stepping up for a headlining show at one of St. Louis’s most iconic rooms. On Saturday, August 8, the band takes the stage at the Duck Room (Blueberry Hill, 6504 Delmar Boulevard in University City) for a special “Live From Delmar Boulevard” night.
The connection is personal. In “Oh, Caroline,” the band sings about chasing someone “down to Delmar Boulevard.” Fans have been asking about the lyric ever since. Now they’re bringing the full album experience to the legendary basement venue that has hosted everyone from Chuck Berry to countless local and touring acts. Doors are at 6 p.m., with the show running into the evening. The event is all-ages, with free parking available. Tickets are available via Eventbrite.
