St. Louis deathcore heavyweights This Is Me Breathing have officially released their long-awaited new album, Serenity In Suffering, out today via Arson Theory.
After more than a decade of relentless touring, lineup refinement, and sonic evolution, the band has crafted what stands as their most mature and impactful work to date. Recorded and mixed at Sicktones Studios and engineered by Jack Daniels and Elisha Mullins, with mastering handled by Jeff Dunne, the album captures This Is Me Breathing at their heaviest, most deliberate, and emotionally intense.
Blending crushing slams, groove-driven riffs, suffocating atmosphere, and hardcore-fueled aggression, Serenity In Suffering bridges the band’s established intensity with forward-thinking evolution—representing both their hard-earned past and their ambitious future.
Formed in 2014, This Is Me Breathing have steadily built a reputation as one of the Midwest’s most dedicated and punishing heavy bands. Since solidifying their permanent lineup in 2019, they have logged extensive miles across 29 states, sharing stages with a formidable list of acts including Lorna Shore, Beartooth, Chelsea Grin, Spite, Boundaries, Distant, Ingested, Bleeding Through, Traitors, and Crown Magnetar.
The new record follows a string of impactful singles that previewed the band’s continued growth. Tracks like “First Degree” and “Return To None” showcased their signature ability to fuse deathcore brutality with hardcore urgency and metalcore precision—qualities that define the full-length effort.
To mark the occasion, This Is Me Breathing will host a special hometown album release show on Saturday, June 27 at Fubar in St. Louis. The stacked lineup features:
