Netflix has greenlit a new espionage drama series starring Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour as estranged father and daughter, marking a high-profile reunion following their acclaimed work on Stranger Things.
The untitled project, written by Jack Thorne (Adolescence, Enola Holmes), has received a straight-to-series order. Brown and Harbour will also serve as executive producers alongside A24.
According to the official logline, disgraced FBI agent turned private security expert Matt Wolfe (Harbour) is pulled back into the intelligence world when his estranged daughter, Rebecca (Brown)—herself an FBI agent intent on following in her father’s footsteps—disappears during a mission. The story explores the personal and professional stakes as Wolfe returns to a rapidly evolving field.
Thorne, known for his ability to blend compelling human drama with thriller elements, brings significant pedigree to the project. Netflix Head of Scripted Series for the U.S. and Canada, Jinny Howe, stated:
“We are delighted to bring this spy drama to life with an extraordinary group of talent we’ve been fortunate to collaborate with before. Jack Thorne’s ability to find the deeply human story inside a thriller is unmatched, and watching Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour reunite — this time as estranged father and daughter on opposite sides of a crisis — is something audiences are going to love. A24 is the perfect partner to bring this story to our members around the world.”
Additional executive producers include Jake Bongiovi and Robert Brown for PCMA Productions, Joe Hipps and Patrick McDonald for Cut To, and KC Wenson for Bravo Axolotl.
The announcement comes approximately six months after the Stranger Things series finale. Brown and Harbour previously portrayed the iconic father-daughter duo of Jim Hopper and Eleven, a relationship that resonated deeply with audiences and fostered a strong off-screen bond between the actors.
Both performers have remained active since the conclusion of Stranger Things. Brown’s Enola Holmes 3 is scheduled for release on July 1, while Harbour has continued his diverse body of work. The pair have spoken positively about future collaborations, underscoring their enduring creative partnership.
This new series promises a sophisticated blend of international intrigue and family drama, leveraging Thorne’s distinctive storytelling approach and the proven chemistry between its leads.
