Saint Louis University has landed a major transfer portal addition in Elijah Strong, the 6-foot-8, 250-pound forward who spent the 2025-26 season with the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Strong announced his commitment to the Billikens on Saturday, giving SLU a proven, physically imposing wing/forward who brings immediate experience and production to head coach Josh Schertz’s roster.
In his lone season in Columbia, Strong played in all 32 games for South Carolina and averaged 10.0 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. The big man showed an ability to finish around the rim, stretch the floor with his mid-range game, and provide a physical presence on both ends — traits that should translate quickly to the Atlantic 10.
Prior to his year at South Carolina, Strong spent two full seasons at Boston College, developing in the ACC against some of the nation’s most athletic frontcourts. That combination of high-major experience from both the ACC and SEC makes him one of the more battle-tested transfers available in this cycle.
At 6-8 and 250 pounds, Strong gives the Billikens much-needed size and strength up front.
Strong becomes the latest high-profile addition for the Billikens as the program continues its aggressive portal strategy under Schertz. His arrival signals a clear intent to build a more physical, veteran-laden roster capable of making noise in a deep conference.
