For the first time since Pietro Ferrero created the original hazelnut-cocoa spread in 1964, Nutella is introducing a brand-new flavor. On April 15, 2026, Ferrero North America announced the nationwide launch of Nutella Peanut—a creamy, roasted-peanut-infused twist on the iconic spread that fans have been craving for years.

The new spread blends the unmistakable smoothness and chocolate-hazelnut richness of classic Nutella with the savory, earthy depth of roasted peanuts. It’s designed to be perfectly spreadable right out of the jar, making it ideal for afternoon snacks, sandwiches, or straight-from-the-spoon indulgence. Early tasters describe it as peanut-forward with a subtler hazelnut-cocoa backbone and slightly less sweetness than the original—think a sophisticated mash-up that still feels unmistakably Nutella.

Nutella’s formula has remained virtually unchanged for more than six decades, building a global cult following sold in over 160 countries. While the brand has expanded into biscuits, B-ready bars, and single-serve pouches, it had never altered the core spread’s flavor—until now. The decision came after years of fan requests, especially in North America, where peanut butter reigns supreme.

“Honestly, when a jar of Nutella goes viral floating in space, you start to feel like anything is possible,” joked Noah Szporn, Senior Vice President of Spreads at Ferrero North America. “So naturally our next move as a brand was dropping our first new flavor innovation in over 60 years.”

He added: “Nutella Peanut delivers the same creamy experience fans know and love, now blended with the irresistible taste of roasted peanuts. Our fans have been asking for this for years. We heard them, and afternoon snack time will never be the same.”

Nutella Peanut keeps the beloved creamy texture fans expect but feels slightly thicker and lighter in color. The ingredient list includes sugar, peanuts, palm oil, peanut flour, cocoa, hazelnuts, lecithin (emulsifier), salt, and vanillin.
