UPDATE: Tiger Woods was arrested and charged with DUI, property damage, and refusal to submit, per the Martin County Sheriff in Florida.

Golf icon Tiger Woods was involved in a rollover car crash on Jupiter Island in Martin County, Florida, just after 2 p.m. Friday, authorities confirmed.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office reported that Woods’ vehicle rolled over near 281 Beach Road. Deputies arrived to find the vehicle on its side, with law enforcement and emergency personnel responding to the scene.

Details remain limited as the investigation is ongoing. Some reports indicate two vehicles may have been involved, with one rolling over. One person at the scene was reported stable, while another refused hospital transport, though it was not immediately clear if either detail pertains directly to Woods. His current condition has not been publicly released.

The sheriff’s office said it is actively investigating the crash and planned to provide additional details during a media briefing scheduled for 5 p.m. local time.

Woods, 50, is a 15-time major champion and one of the most recognizable figures in sports history. He has called South Florida home for years, living in the Jupiter area.

This incident comes more than five years after Woods’ high-profile rollover crash in February 2021 in Rolling Hills Estates, California. In that single-vehicle accident, his Genesis GV80 SUV veered off a downhill road, struck a curb and tree, and rolled multiple times at speeds estimated up to 87 mph — more than 40 mph over the posted limit. Woods suffered severe injuries to his right leg, including open fractures to his tibia and fibula, requiring multiple surgeries. He made a remarkable recovery and returned to competitive golf, including playing in the Masters.

No further information on impairment, speed, or cause in Friday’s crash has been released. This is a developing story, and updates are expected as more details emerge from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.

Woods’ representatives have not yet issued a statement.
