The St. Louis Cardinals have welcomed a familiar face back home with the addition of Dani Wexelman as their new host and reporter for Cardinals TV broadcasts.
Announced as part of the team’s 2026 Spring Training broadcast schedule on February 12, 2026, Wexelman—a St. Louis native—will make her debut during two Grapefruit League matchups this spring. She will share sideline reporter duties throughout the regular season with veteran Jim Hayes, who returns for his 25th season covering the Cardinals, primarily handling Opening Day and all home games.
This move marks a full-circle moment for Wexelman, who grew up in the St. Louis area (including Wildwood and Eureka) as a passionate Cardinals fan. She has long cherished memories of Busch Stadium—the old one in particular—and has frequently spoken about her deep-rooted connection to the team and the city.

Wexelman brings a wealth of experience in sports broadcasting to the role. She began her career with an internship in minor league baseball before spending over a decade in New York, working with MLB.com, MLB Network, and MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM, where she hosts her own show, Sunday Sliders. She has also contributed to ESPN as a play-by-play announcer and sideline reporter (including at the Men’s College World Series), filled in on Baseball Tonight, and served as a studio analyst and contributor for SNY (SportsNet New York), covering the Mets among other duties.
Her résumé includes on-air work across MLB, NHL, Major League Rugby, and youth/amateur baseball coverage with Perfect Game USA. A graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, Wexelman has built a reputation for insightful storytelling, player interviews, and in-depth analysis—skills that will serve her well in delivering pre-game, post-game, and in-game reporting for Cardinals fans.
The Cardinals’ broadcast team continues to feature Chip Caray on play-by-play, with analysts Brad Thompson and Stefan Caray. With 16 Spring Training games streaming free on Cardinals.TV/MLB.TV (and local simulcasts), plus radio coverage on KMOX and the Cardinals Radio Network, Wexelman’s addition adds fresh energy to the coverage as the team prepares for the 2026 season.
For Cardinals faithful, having a lifelong fan and accomplished broadcaster like Dani Wexelman join the booth isn’t just a hire—it’s a homecoming that promises to bring authentic passion and professional polish to every broadcast. Fans can look forward to her debut soon as spring training gets underway. Welcome home, Dani!
