Staind is hitting the road in a big way to celebrate 25 years of their iconic album Break the Cycle. The multi-platinum rock band just announced the Break The Cycle 25th Anniversary Tour, a run packed with nostalgia and heavy-hitting support acts.
The tour brings together some of the biggest names from the post-grunge and modern rock era: Seether steps up as direct support for most dates, while Hoobastank and Hinder join as special guest openers on select shows. It’s basically a dream bill for fans of early-2000s radio rock.
Break the Cycle, released in 2001, was Staind’s massive breakthrough—certified 5x platinum by the RIAA and home to monster hits like “It’s Been Awhile,” which dominated modern rock radio for 20 weeks at No. 1 and cracked the top five on the Billboard Hot 100. Other standout tracks from the album—”Fade,” “For You,” “Outside,” “So Far Away,” and “Right Here”—also topped charts and helped define the post-grunge sound.
Formed back in 1995, Staind has dropped eight studio albums over the years and racked up awards from Billboard, MTV, and more. After a hiatus, they reunited in 2019 for festival sets and a special hometown show that became the live album Live: It’s Been Awhile. Aaron Lewis and the crew are clearly pumped to revisit this chapter.
Aaron Lewis shared: “25 years later, to be touring and celebrating this album, bringing our music to fans near and far—that’s really special. I’m looking forward to hitting the road with these guys. It’s like one big family reunion!”
Guitarist Mike Mushok added: “Hard to believe it’s been 25 years. Those times were some of the highlights of my career, and I’m fortunate to still be doing this. I can’t wait to celebrate what was a career-defining album with good friends. Hope you can join us!”
The tour kicks off with a few festival appearances and standalone shows in May and July, then ramps up into the full anniversary run starting in September, hitting major amphitheaters and arenas across the U.S. and Canada before wrapping in mid-October.
