Black Veil Brides - Certainty

No Description

Black Veil Brides, the theatrical rock powerhouse, have kicked off the new year with a bang, releasing their intense new single “Certainty” alongside a visually stunning music video. The track serves as the latest preview of the band’s upcoming seventh studio album, set for release later this year via Spinefarm Records.

Comprised of vocalist Andy Biersack, guitarists Jake Pitts and Jinxx, bassist Lonny Eagleton, and drummer Christian Coma, Black Veil Brides continue to evolve their signature blend of hard rock, metalcore influences, and dramatic flair. “Certainty” is a dynamic anthem that builds from brooding verses to explosive choruses, featuring metallic riffs, soaring melodies, and Biersack’s versatile vocals ranging from melodic cries to aggressive screams.

The song’s lyrics delve into themes of fear, pride, and the dangers of unyielding beliefs, with lines like “So certain every day you have found the perfect way” critiquing rigid mindsets. Biersack explains that the track was inspired by the 2024 film Conclave, which explores religious certainty and how absolute convictions can trap individuals.

“The concept of ‘Certainty’ is central to this record and appears throughout the album,” Biersack shares. “When certainty hardens, curiosity, growth, and the willingness to change become impossible. Much of today’s political and social discourse exists inside these echo chambers of absolute belief, and that tension drives the narrative of this record.”

This thematic depth positions “Certainty” as more than a standalone single—it’s a thesis statement for the forthcoming album, following previous releases like the 2024 Bleeders EP and 2025’s “Hallelujah.” The new full-length follows 2021’s The Phantom Tomorrow, which topped Billboard’s Top Hard Rock Albums chart.

Adding to the release’s impact is the accompanying music video, directed by George Gallardo Kattah (known for work with Chelsea Wolfe and Måneskin). Filmed in Bogotá, Colombia, during the band’s tour, the video features breathtaking cinematography in an opulent castle setting, intercut with a brutal narrative of conflict between brothers—symbolizing the “biblical twins” of fear and pride.

Biersack calls it one of their best visuals yet: “His interpretation of fear and pride as biblical twins is stunning, and the visuals are incredible.” The A24-like intensity perfectly mirrors the song’s emotional weight.

Interestingly, “Certainty” was the last track completed for the album, originating from a riff idea Pitts sent to Biersack and coming together rapidly. “It felt essential both narratively and musically, capturing the overall tone of what we’re aiming for,” he adds.

Formed over 15 years ago by Biersack’s vision of blending death rock theatrics with modern rock energy, Black Veil Brides have built a devoted “BVB Army” through uncompromising artistry. With millions of social media followers and a history of chart-topping success, the band remains a force of resistance and creativity.

“Certainty” is available now on all streaming platforms.
