In a match made in Midwestern rock heaven, two of the most enduring acts in classic rock history—Chicago and Styx—are joining forces for their first-ever co-headlining tour. Dubbed “The Windy Cities Tour – All The Hits… Your Kind Of Tour,” this 25-date extravaganza promises to deliver a double dose of timeless anthems, horn-driven grooves, and soaring power ballads across amphitheaters and arenas nationwide. Kicking off on July 13, 2026, in West Palm Beach, Florida, the tour celebrates the shared Chicago roots of both bands, evoking the “Windy City” moniker with a nod to their origins and the breezy, high-energy performances fans can expect all summer long.

For those unfamiliar, Chicago burst onto the scene in 1967 as a horn-infused rock powerhouse, blending jazz, soul, and pop-rock into hits like “25 or 6 to 4,” “Saturday in the Park,” and “If You Leave Me Now.” With over 100 million albums sold worldwide and induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the Grammy-winning band has maintained a relentless touring schedule for nearly six decades. Styx, formed in 1972 in the same city, rose to fame with progressive rock epics such as “Come Sail Away,” “Renegade,” and “Babe,” selling more than 54 million records and earning a reputation for theatrical live shows. Both bands hail from the heart of the Midwest, and this tour feels like a long-overdue homecoming collaboration.

Styx guitarist/vocalist Tommy Shaw, a fan of Chicago since his early days, shared his excitement in a recent interview: “In my early days of live performing, I had several mentors who were kind enough to let me join in and play with them… By the time Chicago released their first album, I had enough experience to begin learning their amazing music on my own. Now, the idea of Styx touring with Chicago is a major thrill all on its own.” Chicago’s Lee Loughnane echoed the sentiment, noting the potential for cross-pollination: “We’re going to have the Styx crowd who will be listening to us live for probably the first time and vice-versa. After this tour, we’ll probably have more fans from each band that we didn’t have previously. It’s a mutual benefit.”

The tour’s subtitle—”All The Hits… Your Kind Of Tour”—hints at a setlist packed with crowd-pleasers, likely spanning Chicago’s brass-fueled classics and Styx’s synth-rock staples. While details on potential joint encores remain under wraps until rehearsals, Shaw joked about dusting off his chops for a Styx take on “25 or 6 to 4” or lending vocals to “Colour My World.” Expect pyrotechnics, laser shows, and the kind of communal sing-alongs that turn venues into instant nostalgia factories.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, December 5, at 10 a.m. local time via LiveNation.com, with presales kicking off December 2 for Chicago Fan Club members, Mastercard holders (for select shows), and Citi cardmembers. Prices are expected to start around $50 for lawn seats, with premium packages offering VIP access and meet-and-greets.
