The Atlanta Braves organization has announced that longtime manager Brian Snitker will conclude his tenure in the dugout following the 2025 season, assuming an advisory position within the franchise for 2026. In recognition of his distinguished contributions, Snitker will be inducted into the Atlanta Braves Hall of Fame prior to a home game next season.
At 69 years old, Snitker, a native of Macon, Illinois, has been a cornerstone of the Braves’ success for nearly five decades. This transition marks the end of an era defined by sustained excellence and transformative achievements.
During his 10 seasons at the helm, Snitker guided the Braves to 811 victories, securing six National League East division titles and seven postseason appearances. His leadership culminated in the franchise’s fourth World Series championship in 2021, a milestone that solidified his place among the organization’s most revered figures.
Snitker’s accomplishments extend to individual honors, including four finalist nods for National League Manager of the Year and a victory in that award in 2018. Upon his departure, he will rank third in franchise history for managerial wins, behind Hall of Famers Bobby Cox (2,149) and Frank Selee (1,004). Among active managers since his debut, his 811 triumphs place him second overall, trailing only Dave Roberts of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Snitker completed his 49th season with the Braves in 2025, marking his ninth full year as manager. He assumed the role on an interim basis on May 17, 2016, before being appointed permanently on October 11 of that year. His association with the organization dates to 1977, when he joined as a non-drafted free agent.
At the major league level, Snitker compiled an 811-668 (.548) record, reflecting consistent performance and strategic acumen. On September 8, 2025, he achieved his 800th career win, becoming the 86th manager in baseball history to reach that threshold. Notably, he is the 43rd to accomplish 800 or more victories with a single team and the 12th to do so without managing another franchise—a testament to his unwavering commitment.
Prior to his major league appointment, Snitker managed for 20 seasons in the minor leagues, amassing a 1,301-1,309 (.498) record. He earned five minor league postseason awards, including consecutive honors in 1999 and 2000 with Single-A Myrtle Beach.
