Jhoan Duran, a 27-year-old right-handed flamethrower, has been one of the most coveted relievers on the trade market. Known for his triple-digit fastball and devastating splitter, Duran brings an elite presence to the Phillies’ bullpen. In 2025, he has posted a stellar 1.94 ERA with 51 strikeouts over 46 1/3 innings, securing 15 saves in 17 opportunities for the Twins. His 100.2 mph four-seam fastball and 97.5 mph splitter make him a nightmare for opposing hitters.
The Phillies, already a powerhouse in the National League with a strong rotation and potent lineup, have been seeking a reliable closer to replace Jose Alvarado, who is sidelined for the postseason due to a PED suspension.
