The wait is over for St. Louis-area spice enthusiasts as Dave’s Hot Chicken opened its first regional location at 17304 Chesterfield Airport Rd. on Friday, July 11th, 2025.

The fast-casual chain, known for its Nashville-style hot chicken, kicked off with a secret soft opening on Thursday, drawing eager crowds ready to experience its signature fiery flavors.

Founded in 2017 as a humble Los Angeles parking lot pop-up, Dave’s Hot Chicken has grown into a national sensation with over 300 locations. The Chesterfield opening marks the beginning of an ambitious expansion plan to bring seven restaurants to the St. Louis area. “With this expansion into St. Louis, we’re confident the local community will cherish the new spots as their hot chicken haven,” said CEO Bill Phelps.

The menu features a straightforward yet bold selection of chicken tenders and sliders, customizable with seven spice levels ranging from mild to the infamous “Reaper,” which requires a signed waiver. Sides like crispy fries, kale slaw, and creamy mac and cheese complement the main offerings, with cauliflower available as a vegetarian alternative.
