The St. Louis Ambush have signed free agent forward Andres Chalbaud to the roster for the 2025-26 Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) season. This marks Chalbaud’s debut in the MASL and his first season with our team, bringing a fresh wave of talent and energy to the Ambush.

Hailing from Valencia, Venezuela, Andres Chalbaud has built an impressive soccer career that spans continents and leagues. For the past five years, he’s been a standout player with the Michigan Stars FC in the National Independent Soccer League (NISA). His time there was marked by a league championship win in 2022 and a runner-up finish in 2023, where he led the league in assists. His dynamic play and knack for setting up goals have made him a force on the field.

Closer to home, fans may already be familiar with Andres from his time with Ambush 2 in the MASL last season and his current role with the FC Ambush outdoor squad in USL2. His soccer journey began at age five and has taken him through the prestigious Chicago Fire Academy U-18 (now part of MLS NEXT), followed by collegiate soccer at Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois (2013-15), and Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri (2015-17). Before turning pro, he also played with AFC Ann Arbor in the NPSL, showcasing his versatility and dedication.

Ambush General Manager Donnie Alberty couldn’t be more excited about Chalbaud’s addition to the team. “Chalbaud has demonstrated great speed, strength, a tremendous work ethic, along with discipline and commitment,” Alberty said. “We believe those attributes will make him an important contributor to our future success.” His combination of athleticism and professionalism is exactly what the Ambush need as we gear up for the upcoming season.

For Chalbaud, joining the St. Louis Ambush is a milestone built on years of hard work and determination. “Joining the St Louis Ambush is the result of hard work, belief, and sacrifice,” he said. “I’m proud to wear this jersey and represent a club with passion and tradition. This opportunity means a lot to me, and I’m stepping into this next chapter with gratitude, pride, and the drive to make a real impact. I’m ready to give it my all for the crest, the fans, and my teammates.”

The Ambush are set to kick off their 13th season this fall, with all home games taking place at The Family Arena in St. Charles.
