St. Louis CITY SC forward João Klauss was named the Major League Soccer Player of the Matchday for Matchday 19 of the 2025 season.
The Brazilian scored the club’s first-ever hat trick in a 3-3 draw against the LA Galaxy, including a stoppage-time equalizer. Klauss’ three goals bring his 2025 total to five, matching his 2024 tally and leading the team.
As St. Louis’ all-time leading scorer with 20 regular-season goals, he earned his second career Matchday award, following a 2023 win.
St. Louis is the third club this season with multiple Player of the Matchday winners, joining Charlotte FC and San Diego FC. After a break for the FIFA Club World Cup, St. Louis resumes play hosting Orlando City SC on June 25 and facing Houston Dynamo FC on June 28.
