Matrix Midwest is thrilled to announce the broadcast of the last of nine neutral-site games in the inaugural Professional Women’s Hockey League Takeover Tour™ on March 29 at 1pm CT with a face-off between the Ottawa Charge and Boston Fleet from the Enterprise Center.  This exciting tour brings the intensity of PWHL hockey to new cities across North America, giving fans a chance to experience the top women’s hockey players in the world in their own communities.

This game is airing on Matrix Midwest, St. Louis’ only free and independent sports and entertainment network, available free over-the-air on channel 32 and channel 6 on Spectrum/Charter.

“Matrix Midwest is proud to serve our viewers in St. Louis with this free, over-the-air broadcast of women’s professional hockey.  With all the excitement for hockey in St. Louis right now, we anticipate viewer enthusiasm for the final game of the PWHL Takeover Tour” said J.D. Sosnoff, General Manager of KMOV-TV and Matrix Midwest.  “After bringing St. Louis the first over-the-air St. Louis Blues games in more than 15 years, it’s a perfect fit to bring the PWHL to the fans.”

Matrix Midwest will carry the standard PWHL broadcast of the game between Boston and Ottawa, featuring veteran hockey broadcaster, anchor, and reporter Jamie Hersch on play-by-play with Olympic gold medalist Gigi Marvin providing color commentary. Natalie Noury will be the rinkside reporter.

“Local involvement is paramount to the PWHL Takeover Tour, and the support we’ve received from the Blues organization has been incredible,” said Amy Scheer, PWHL Executive Vice President of Business Operations. “Having Matrix Midwest bring our game over the air throughout St. Louis is exactly what growing the game is about. This partnership is a testament to the energy surrounding the Takeover Tour and professional women’s hockey.”

“The Blues organization is honored to have the opportunity to host the PWHL and bring world-class women’s hockey back to the passionate hockey fans at Enterprise Center in March of 2025,” said Chris Zimmerman, Blues President and CEO of Business Operations. “Dating back to before we prioritized women’s hockey development as the legacy project for the 2020 NHL All-Star Game, the Blues organization has maintained an ongoing commitment to growing women’s hockey throughout the St. Louis region. We have seen significant increase in the opportunities and access to coaching for women in the sport across the Heartland of Hockey and look forward to leveraging the presence of the PWHL in our market to further spark interest in this great game among women of all ages.”
