FORT COLLINS, CO – Lindenwood women’s basketball will be making their post-season debut this coming Thursday, March 20th when they compete in the 27th annual Postseason WNIT, powered by Triple Crown Sports. After boasting a 13-2 home record, Lindenwood is set to host Tulsa (17-14) on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. CT inside Hyland Arena. The Lions earned an automatic qualifying bid after reaching the Ohio Valley Conference Championship earlier this month.
The 2025 Postseason WNIT launches with a flourish this week, with times, dates and locations now secured for the 16 Round 1 games on the schedule. Teams with first-round byes have also been determined.
After revealing the 48-team field on Sunday evening, Tournament officials released the full bracket on Monday afternoon with matchups, locations and start times for the opening round. Of the 48 teams that accepted the invitation, 22 teams won at least 20 games during the 2024-25 season.
Lindenwood comes into the WNIT fresh off an OVC Championship game appearance in just their third season in the OVC. Head coach Amy Eagan transformed the Lindenwood program in just her second season. After posting a 7-21 record in 2023-24, Eagan responded with a +14 win increase, one of the highest record increases in all of Division I this season. Eagan was also named the OVC Coach of the Year after leading the Lions to a 21-10 overall record and a 16-4 mark in conference play.
The Lions were led by two All-Conference honorees including Ellie Brueggemann who earned First Team All-OVC accolades. The sophomore guard from Owasso, Okla. led the team in points this season averaging 11.8 per game while shooting 40.9% from the field and 33.5% from three. Her 63 triples led the Lions. She also averaged 2.7 rpg, 2.3 apg and 1.2 spg while shooting 90.5% from the foul line.
Brooke Coffey was the second Lion to garner All-OVC honors. Coffey in her first season after transferring from Illinois State, was the Lions’ second leading scorer on her way to All-OVC Second and Newcomer Team awards. She averaged 10.8 points per game while shooting 50.4% from the floor. In The OVC Championship game, Coffey scored a team-high 20 points while grabbing eight rebounds. Coffey led the team in rebounding averaging 6.5 per night while adding 2.5 assists and 1.0 steals.
