(ST. LOUIS, MO) Saturday turned out to be a very productive day for the St. Louis SLAM, both on the field and off.
During the morning, the five-time national champions of the Women’s Football Alliance (WFA) were engaged in a full-tilt practice in preparation of their new campaign that starts in April.
Fast-forward a few hours and the squad swapped their helmets and shoulder pads for formal wear and enjoyed one final moment that recognized – and celebrated – their latest trophy snared last summer.
The SLAM hosted “The Grind & Shine Gala” in the Starlight Room of the Royal Sonesta Chase Park Plaza, which highlighted the 22-year-old franchise’s fifth “ship.’”
St. Louis hoisted hardware after besting WFA Pro “five-peater” Boston Renegades, 30-27, in late-July to finish their season unblemished (9-0).
Saturday’s shindig saw the display of the Franco Harris Trophy while players and coaches received their championship rings.

Newcomer of the Year: Sydney Bloch
Scout Team Player of the Year: Melissa Durrell
Most Improved Player of the Year: Amanda Richardson
Offensive Line Player of the Year: Pamela Green
Offensive Skill Player of the Year: Jada Humphrey
