Collective Soul is still rocking after 30 years!

On Thursday night they packed Walker’s Bluff Casino in Carterville, IL and I took the just over 2 hour drive from St. Louis to catch the show. It was the first time I have seen them at a casino or indoor venue since 2008.

They performed a lot of their classics like “Heavy,” “The World I Know,” “Shine,” and more, while mixing in some of their new music.

Ed talked about how they were invited to tour with Aerosmith shortly after signing their first record deal, and then played homage to them with “Livin’ On The Edge.”

They closed out the night with a cover of “Dirty Deeds” by AC/DC and “Where The River Flows.”

Ed, Dean, and Will never disappoint live and the band has seemed rejuvenated (and like they have a lot more fun) ever since the additions of Jesse Triplett and Johnny Rabb.

They are heading to Canada for a tour with Our Lady Peace, and will be at Bourbon & Beyond in September, and will join Styx in Destin in October.
