They have been showing a presentation to other potential investors that highlights St. Louis’ basketball history and the support that the Cardinals, Blues, CITY, Battlehawks, and college teams have seen in the region.
SLU’s Chaifetz Arena was named as a potential venue.
The WNBA has 12 teams and is in the process of expanding to 16. The 13th, 14th, and 15th teams were awarded to NBA cities San Francisco, Portland, and Toronto.
St. Louis’ competition for the 16th spot is expected to include more than a dozen cities… Denver, Miami, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Kansas City, Philadelphia, Austin, Charlotte are cities that are interested as well.
