Another exciting development for the 2025 season is the realignment of the divisions. The Frontier League will now be divided into two separate conferences, the Midwest and the Atlantic, both of which will be comprised of two divisions.
The reigning Frontier League Champion Québec Capitales will begin their quest for a fourth consecutive title on the road against the New Jersey Jackals before heading to the Chicagoland area for back-to-back series against the Joliet Slammers and Windy City ThunderBolts. The Washington Wild Things, coming off their first appearance in the championship since 2021, will open their season against the ThunderBolts before welcoming fans back to Wild Things Park the following week with a series against the Ottawa Titans.
The Mud Monsters will make their Frontier League debut at home on Opening Day when they host the Florence Y’alls for a three-game series at Trustmark Park. The Bird Dawgs will begin their inaugural season at Grainger Stadium the following day when they take on the Titans.
Elsewhere around the league, the entirety of the East Division will play at home the first weekend of the season. Ottawa, Québec and the Trois-Rivières Aigles will all celebrate their home openers on Tuesday, May 20th. The Evansville Otters will roll their season out with a matchup against the Gateway Grizzlies, marking 110 years of baseball being played at historic Bosse Field.
While various specialty and themed nights will be announced by individual teams, Joliet, Mississippi, Gateway, Schaumburg, Down East, New York, Sussex County, New England and Tri-City will all host games on Independence Day after incredible fan turnout in 2024.
“After our third consecutive regular-season attendance record and a tremendous Championship Series, we are excited to announce our 2025 schedule,” said Frontier League Commissioner Steve Tahsler in a statement. “We welcome our newest members in Down East and Mississippi along with the return of our 16 teams from 2024, all of whom saw an increase in average attendance last season.”
In addition to the realignment of the conferences and divisions, the Frontier League will adjust its playoff format for 2025 as follows:
