Steve Hall of the Lindenwood Football team has been named a finalist for the Jerry Rice Award, which recognizes the FCS Freshman Player of the Year.
Hall has had an outstanding redshirt freshman campaign in 2024 rushing for 416 yards on 68 attempts. The St. Louis, Mo. native has averaged 6.1 yards per toat, which ranks second in the conference He has also been a threat through the air, catching 10 passes for 44 yards.
So far this season, Hall has been named the Big South-OVC Freshman of the Week two times for his tremendous play on the field, including last week against Gardner-Webb. Against the Runnin Bulldogs, Hall went for 78 yards on the ground and added another 16 through the air, and he found the end zone for the first time in his career. Hall was also tabbed the conference Freshman of the Week after rushing for 100 yards against Missouri State in week three.

The 2024 Jerry Rice Award recipient will be announced on Dec. 4 and honored at the Stats Perform National Awards Banquet on Jan. 4 in Frisco, Texas. Other awards at the banquet are the Walter Payton Award (FCS Offensive Player of the Year), Buck Buchanan Award (FCS Defensive Player of the Year), Eddie Robinson Award (FCS Coach of the Year), Urban Edge Network HBCU+ Player of the Year and FedEx Doris Robinson Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
