Amazon MGM Studios is moving forward with the live-action Voltron project (which it describes as a feature film).

First of all, FINALLY! Rumors of a live-action Voltron movie have gone around for years with the project always getting scrapped or put on the back burner, or thought that it couldn’t compete with Transformers. Amazon MGM Studios won a bid for it back in 2022, but I haven’t heard anything since.

Last week, they announced that they cast Daniel Quinn-Toye as a lead actor. He was Tom Holland’s understudy in West End He served as Tom Holland’s understudy and as Paris in the West End production of Romeo & Juliet this past spring.

Today, Henry Cavill has been attached to the project!

Rawson Marshall Thurber (Red Notice, We’re the Millers, Central Intelligence, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story) is directing the film, which will begin shooting in Australia this fall.

I can’t wait, this was my favorite cartoon in the 80s. The Netflix version was pretty awesome too.
