Critically-acclaimed indie icon beabadoobee has released her highly anticipated third studio album This Is How Tomorrow Moves via Dirty Hit. PRESS HERE to stream / download. Produced by Rick Rubin and standing as a testament to her artistic evolution and resilience, This Is How Tomorrow Moves features acclaimed singles “Ever Seen,” “Coming Home” and “Take A Bite,” and captures a journey through confidence and introspection.

In tandem with release week, beabadoobee also shared her new single and video “Beaches,” a celebration of self-belief and a newfound confidence that was written while Bea was recording the album at Rick Rubin’s Shangri-La studio. PRESS HERE to watch the video which draws inspiration from Bea reveling in the studio’s Malibu surroundings: eating healthily, soaking up the sun, going for dips in the ocean, and constantly writing and recording.

“I was just going to put my feet in,” Bea reminisces about her first time jumping into the water in Malibu, “But then everyone was like, ‘Why wouldn’t you just put your whole body in? Jump in!’. And that became such an encapsulation of this whole recording opportunity – don’t do it half-arsed, just go fucking full-force!”

With guidance from Rubin, beabadoobee noted how much she enjoyed getting back to the roots of her craft. “He kind of gave me the confidence that I can trust my songwriting – like I earned this position to be in Shangri-La, it’s not an opportunity to waste, and it just gave me a shit-ton of confidence: I can write a song, that’s the one thing I know I can do.”

Featuring new, self-reflective tracks such as “Girl Song,” “Tie My Shoes,” “Everything I Want,” and “A Cruel Affair” This Is How Tomorrow Moves is an album of multitudes which captures a journey through confidence and introspection, with themes of self-acceptance and personal growth woven throughout, and stands as a testament to beabadoobee’s artistic evolution, resilience as a performer and growth as a songwriter.

This Is How Tomorrow Moves is in parts a love letter to her younger self and all that she’s been through while also taking the reins on the next stage of her life. “I love this album,” beabadoobee shares. “I feel like it’s helped me so much more than anything else has in navigating this new era, this new understanding of where I’m at. I guess it’s about becoming a woman.”

“I think I’m more aware of my actions in these songs,” beabadoobee adds, “In my previous records, I would consistently sing about my reaction towards other people’s doings, like a blame game. But in this record, it’s accepting that there’s an inevitability of my fault in there too. Whether it’s childhood trauma or relationship issues, it takes two to tango in everything.”

“Beaches” follows the recent release of single “Ever Seen,” which was written on the road while Bea was touring with Taylor Swift and was originally intended to be a country song, and lead single “Take A Bite,” a cascade of taut guitars that indulges a desire for chaos despite the self-awareness of bringing past negative cycles into something new which just hit #1 at triple-A radio in the U.S. after being the most-added track for several weeks in a row. “Take A Bite” was followed by nostalgic album track “Coming Home” which channels her love for The Beatles.

beabadoobee’s North American ‘This Is How Tomorrow Moves Tour’ kicks off September 8 with special guest Hovvdy, and additional shows are being added due to demand. The headline dates mark beabadoobee’s first return to the states after kicking off Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour. She’ll bring her incomparable live show to major cities coast-to-coast including Washington, D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, San Francisco, Denver, and more, as well as New York’s Central Park SummerStage. Please visit beabadoobee.com for tickets and tour info.

About beabadoobee

Born in the Philippines and raised in London, Beatrice Laus, known as beabadoobee, has emerged as a British, alt-pop icon. With two acclaimed albums and five diverse EPs she’s garnered BRIT Award and BBC Sound Of nominations and won NME’s 2020 Radar award. With over 5 billion streams worldwide, beabadoobee has built a massive, dedicated Gen-Z fan base. Her highly anticipated debut album Fake It Flowers was released in 2020 to widespread critical acclaim and debuted in the top 10 of the UK charts. 2022’s follow up Beatopia is a fantastical yet deeply personal world that was formed in the imagination of a 7-year-old beabadoobee and has been carried with her ever since.

Beatopia debuted in the top 5 of the UK charts and came accompanied by her biggest sold-out UK tour to date, a huge sold-out North America tour, as well as shows in Australia and Asia and performances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert. Receiving global praise for Beatopia and gracing the covers of The Face, GQ Hype, UPROXX, and NME, beabadoobee has also shared stages with The 1975, Halsey, and Clairo, and has played at some of the biggest festivals in the world, including Coachella, Glastonbury, Gov Ball, Summer Sonic, and many more.

“For someone who is still figuring it all out, beabadoobee has never sounded as self-assured as she does on This Is How Tomorrow Moves. Bea is at her best when she mixes her super-charged guitar licks with sleek beats that are so good they conjure both a satisfying sense of nostalgia and prickly excitement… [and] has crystallized her sonic landscape, thanks to her command of guitar and her angelic delivery. It’s a feat that makes us excited for whatever comes next.” – Rolling Stone

“Beabadoobee is back… getting ready to release her most intimate album yet, [featuring] dreamy first single, ‘Take A Bite… she’s sharper than ever… an excellent return for the singer-songwriter.’” – Billboard

“The verses [on “Take A Bite”] have a faster, conversational flow, as if she’s talking to the listener directly – her inspirations were Fiona Apple and Incubus, which are evident in its moody ‘90s-‘00s rock feel.” – ELLE Magazine

“[Her] latest single, “Take a Bite,” the first song off of her upcoming album, perfectly bridges that sweet voice and tough sound. That balance has become a beabadoobee signature. But this time around, [she] possesses a new level of strength and stamina [and] Bea is ready for this new era.” – High Snobiety

“The first single from Beabadoobee’s Rick Rubin-produced new album is darkly-toned and deeply catchy, Beatrice Lau’s precision-engineered hooks cutting through the lush production like butter.” – PAPER Magazine

“Take a Bite” [is] a catchy, melodic, swirling indie tune that finds beabadoobee reflecting on the life she lives.” – Consequence

“‘Take A Bite’ is a lush pop tune” – The FADER

“After getting her start making bedroom pop, beabadoobee has taken a big leap up with This Is How Tomorrow Moves, recording with Rick Rubin at his Shangri-La studios. Lead single “Take A Bite” sounds big and bold. It reminds me of the mid-‘90s moment when pop singer-songwriters were making sure to put grungy guitar vroom into even their most pop-ready tracks.” – Stereogum

“Beabadoobee will be away from home for most of September due to her headlining This Is How Tomorrow Moves Tour. And based upon the lyrics in her newly released “Coming Home” single, Beabadoobee will miss the comforts of her mundane routine while performing her forthcoming Rick Rubin-produced ‘This Is How Tomorrow Moves’ album for adorning crowds.” – UPROXX

“Ahead of the August 16 release of her Rick Rubin-produced album This is How Tomorrow Moves, beabadoodee released “Coming Home,” the album’s second single after “Take A Bite.” Weird, heartfelt, and true-to-her as ever, she shows us why she is still an artist to watch.” – NYLON
