Since 1983, Phish has been travelling the world dazzling fans with their psychedelic, funky fusion, jam-based music (minus a few years due to a pesky break up). Not to mention their light shows.
The last time Phish performed in St. Louis, the second night of their concert was a double whammy for the hyped-up crowd as the St. Louis Blues won the Stanley Cup. Phish members, Trey Anastasio, Jon Fishman, Mike Gordon, and Page McConnell took it all in stride, adding a cover of “Gloria” (the unofficial theme song for the Blues that year).
During night two of Phish’s 2024 St. Louis gig at Chaifetz Arena, Phishheads only needed to tune into all things glorious about Phish and their sound.
Prior to the concert, the Shakedown Street pop-up just a couple of blocks away from Chaifetz Arena, was the place to hang out, despite humid conditions, to, ah, pregame.
Once inside, Phishheads cooled off and camped out waiting for the star of the 2-hour concert to captivate and delight. And it did.
The Wednesday night show began with “Turtle in the Clouds” which included a surprise dance routine with Anastasio and Gordon before sliding into Anastasio’s “Hey Stranger.”
From “Lawn Boy” and “The Squirming Coil to “If I Could” into “Twist” into “Anastasio’s “Ruby Waves” and ending the night with “Miss You” into “Harry Hood” fans boogied and bounced around the room all night long.
