The dynamic scoring tandem of Simon Becher and John Klein struck again Tuesday, helping propel the 15th-ranked Saint Louis Billikens past the Kansas City Roos 1-0 in a nonconference men’s soccer match at Durwood Soccer Stadium.

The Billikens won their third in a row to improve to 6-0-3. Kansas City, playing in its home opener, dipped to 1-4-3.

SLU got the deciding goal early in the second half. Isaiah Parker drew a foul in the top corner of the box to create a set piece opportunity for the Billikens. Klein sent the ball into the box, and Becher ran to it and headed it into the right side netting for the only goal the Billikens would need.

For the second straight game, the Billikens dominated in possession and chances, outshooting the Roos 21-3. The Billikens mustered a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks.

Patrick Schulte earned his fourth shutout of the season.

SLU returns to Atlantic 10 Conference action on Saturday night when it hosts Fordham at Hermann Stadium. Game time is 7 p.m.
