Blues Activate Parayko; Assign Brouwer

St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the Blues have activated defenseman Colton Parayko from Injured Reserve (IR).  Parayko has missed the past seven games due to an upper-body injury.  In addition, the Blues assigned forward Troy Brouwer to the club’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage.

Parayko, 26, has dressed in 42 games this season, collecting 13 points (two goals, 11 assists) and eight penalty minutes.  Overall, the 6’6, 230-pound defenseman has appeared in 364 career regular-season games, amassing 144 points (31 goals, 113 assists) and 97 penalty minutes.  A native of St. Albert, Alberta, Parayko was originally drafted by the Blues in the third round, 86th overall, of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

Brouwer, 34, was signed by the Blues as a free agent on Nov. 20, 2019.  The 6’3, 213-pound forward has dressed in 10 games with the Blues this season, logging one goal. Overall, the Vancouver, B.C., native has appeared in 848 career regular-season games, totaling 363 points (182 goals, 181 assists) and 593 penalty minutes.
