Get ready now for Orville Peck in concert on Friday, October 4 at The Pageant. If there’s one new performer you see on tour through St. Louis this year, make it this show.
Categorized in the country/western genre we’re going to go out on a limb and say this crooner is so much more than “just” country/western. This masked Canadian singer/songwriter should not be contained to just one — or any category.
- Billboard has this to say of his album, Pony: “Pony sounds stuck out of time, straddling the divide between the sounds of classic stars like Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison or Waylon Jennings, and more contemporary sonic elements like dream pop guitar riffs.
- An NPR interview with Peck says: “his voice has earned favorable comparisons to Roy Orbison, Chris Isaak and Elvis Presley.”
- Even Vogue has already interviewed Peck: “His music and style already speak for themselves.”
Originally booked at Blueberry Hill’s The Duck Room, this up-and-comer quickly sold out the small venue and organizers quickly switched him over to The Pageant which can hold upwards of 2,300. You need to be one of those in that crowd.
Opening for Peck will be Boulevards and Daniel Donato.
