This past Friday at the Enterprise Center was the place to be. Fans, young and old, traveled from all across the Midwest to see one of the most admired and talented boy groups of all time, the Backstreet Boys.
To kick off this memorable night, Baylee Littrell got the crowd swooning and amped for the concert of the year. Now you may be thinking to yourself, “Self, that last name sounds familiar. Could this be Brian Littrell’s son?” The answer is yes. He is following in his Dad’s musical footsteps. With his strong voice commanding the attention of everyone in the room, you couldn’t help to just sit there, listen and enjoy. All of his songs were catchy.
After his 30 minute set, the stadium began to fill with noise of screaming fans, smiling faces and everyone preparing for what is easily described as one of the best concerts of 2019 to be in Saint Louis.
The Backstreet Boys started their set with their iconic songs “Everyone” and “I Wanna Be With You.” By this time, the fans are dancing and singing word after word with the Boys.
As the Boys cranked through hit after hit, Aj McLean, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, and Brian Littrell all had their own moment to shine with their solos throughout their set. Gracing the ears of all their fans in the audience, many screams were heard along with some tears of happiness being shed.
Classics from their earlier albums were placed randomly throughout their whole show. These were fan favorites as the whole stadium started singing these songs as loud as possible. Sometimes, you could barely hear them as the audience was so loud. Songs, such as: Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely, Incomplete, Shape of My Heart, As Long as You Love Me, I Want It That Way, and Larger Than Life solidify the existence of Pop Music we hear today.
Their 2 ½ hour set ended with the legendary song “Larger Than Life” and this was truly a treat for all. The whole group said, “This is our last song and we want you to sing this as loud as possible. Jump!” The whole stadium started dancing, jumping and singing. The energy was incredible.
After being 20 plus years in the business, the group immediately proved why they are still one of the best in the industry. Not one step was missed, not one note out of tune and they can dance in such synchronization.
All in all, the Backstreet Boys brought a night of breathtaking entertainment filled with classics, fans dancing and singing, and a setlist which left you wanting to book tickets to the next show to relive it all again.
I am a Backstreet Boy for life. #BSB4Life
