Celebrating the 25th anniversary of their smash debut album Cracked Rear View, Hootie & The Blowfish return from hiatus for their 2019 Group Therapy Tour. Canadian rock band Barenaked Ladies joined the group for their 44 dates across America.

Barenaked Ladies brought their 30 years of experience to the table with a lighthearted, fun set including “One Week,” “If I Had $1,00,000,” “The Old Apartment,” and more. The band proved to be versatile by playing a mashup of modern day hits from “Shallow,” to “Old Town Road.” Just for St. Louis, they paid respect to the Blues for their Stanley Cup win with “Gloria” before wrapping up.

The folk rock sound from Hootie & The Blowfish was easy to dance to, accompanied by Darius Rucker’s staple voice. They played a variety of their hits such as “Hold My Hand” and “Let Her Cry,” as well as a handful of covers such as “Losing My Religion” and “Hey Hey What Can I Do” (which they previously recorded for a Led Zeppelin tribute album). The band also treated their country fans to some of Rucker’s solo hits such as “Alright,” and his rendition of “Wagon Wheel” which reached massive success in 2013.

They had some fun with a mashup of older covers such as “Fight the Power,” “Freaks of the Industry,” and “Shining Star.” They even incorporated a taste of “Get Down On It” by Kool & The Gang into their big hit and final song “Only Wanna Be With You.”

Barenaked Ladies joined them on stage for their most notable cover “With a Little Help From My Friends,” just before the encore. Smiles filled the stage as every member sung the easygoing song, just before saying goodnight to St. Louis.

Hootie & The Blowfish have stayed busy playing charity shows throughout the years, but thankfully came together for another tour to share their catchy melodies and special talent.
