RECAP
Saint Louis scored a goal in each half in a crucial 2-0 win over George Washington on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at Robert R. Hermann Stadium.
The Billikens improve to 6-3-6 overall and 3-1-3 in the A-10. They remain in a tie for fifth place in the A-10 standings entering the regular-season finale on Wednesday. George Washington falls to 5-8-3 overall and 1-4-2 in the league.
Devin Boyce started the scoring for SLU in the 11th minute. He collected a long flighted ball from the left flank from Lennart Hein and scored to the far post to put the Billikens up early. It was Boyce’s fourth goal of the season.
In the second half, Chase Niece tallied his first of the year. He took a Quayyum Murana feed and scored from just inside the six-yard box to make it 2-0 SLU.
Seth Stiebel made five saves for the shutout. The Billikens outshot George Washington 10-9.
Saint Louis is back in action on Wednesday when it faces Saint Joseph’s in Philadelphia. Game time is 6 p.m.
