Trio of brothers AJR brought their The Click Tour to a sold out Delmar Hall on April 13th. Along with them, they brought Hundred Handed and Oceanpark Standoff.
Even Friday the 13th couldn’t stop the droves of wildly enthusiastic young female fans away from Delmar Hall when the three brothers of AJR came to town.
The show was rich in energy from start to finish. Opener Hundred Handed took the stage with 30 minutes of music that got the spirits of the young teen audience up in preparation for the rest of the show. The duo, consisting of vocalist Jordan and drummer Drew, were fun to watch and interact with despite not being familiar with their music. On the last night of their stint on the tour, Oceanpark Standoff took the stage second and continued the build of energy. Their set featured a notable cover of Maroon 5’s “Sunday Morning,” highlighting vocalist Ethan’s range and rich vocal tonality.
AJR then took the stage and were welcomed with ear-piercing screams and mania. The three brothers – Adam, Jack and Ryan (their initials provide the act’s name) write their own songs, play their own instruments and network intensely with fans using social-media in a way that wasn’t available to previous boy-band-siblings like Hanson. They were wildly energetic, so much so that it was both exhilarating and exhausting to witness, and their music was so catchy I’ve been humming the melody since leaving Delmar Hall.
After being impressed from start to finish with this lineup, it is apparent why these brothers have such a huge following — and why it will continue to grow and multiply in years to come.
