Billikens Top Northern Illinois, 3-2

Saint Louis opened its spring season with a victory Saturday, defeating Northern Illinois 3-2 at Robert R. Hermann Stadium.

The Billikens fell behind 1-0 late in the first half, but responded several minutes later with the equalizer by Jacob Krupp. He finished a pass from Ben Barkley to make it 1-1.

In the second half, Leo Novaes scored the go-ahead goal off a pass from Eric Davies. Desmond Dolphy made it 3-1 on a goal assisted by Ben Huels.

Northern Illinois added a goal late for the 3-2 final.

SLU hits the road for its next spring matchup when it faces Indiana in Bloomington on Saturday, April 7. Kickoff is 6 p.m. (CT).
