Saturday, November 25, 2017 | 8 p.m. (PT)

South Point Arena | Las Vegas, Nev.

THE BASICS

• Saint Louis led by as many as 10 points in the first half, but a fourth-quarter surge by LSU gave the Tigers a 71-59 victory over the Billikens Saturday night at the South Point Shootout in Las Vegas.

• Jackie Kemph scored 14 points and posted a game-high six assists for the Billikens (3-4). Kemph, who was 3-of-5 from 3-point range, was named to the All-Tournament team and moved into third place on SLU’s career scoring list with 1,492 points.

• Jenny Vliet registered her fourth career double-double, scoring 12 points and pulling down a game-high 12 rebounds.

• LSU improved to 3-3

FIRST QUARTER

• The Billikens tallied the first seven points and expanded their lead to 17-7 before a late LSU bucket made it 17-9 at the end of one. Six different players scored for Saint Louis in the quarter.

• LSU’s nine first-quarter points are the fewest scored by a SLU opponent in any quarter this season.

SECOND QUARTER

• After the Tigers trimmed the Billikens’ lead to 22-21, Kerri McMahan hit two free throws and Kemph converted a three-point play to make it 27-21.

• LSU scored the next four points to narrow the gap to two, but Saint Louis responded again with an 8-2 spurt to end the quarter. Paige Rakers and Vliet buried treys on consecutive possessions, and Aaliyah Covington sneaked inside for an offensive rebound and a layup that gave SLU a 35-27 halftime edge.

THIRD QUARTER

• LSU used a 12-4 run to forge a 39-39 deadlock with 3:51 remaining.

• Rakers put Saint Louis back in front with a triple, and the Billikens carried a 47-45 lead into the final 10 minutes.

FOURTH QUARTER

• LSU pulled even twice early in the period, only to see Saint Louis regain the upper hand on its next possession both times. A Covington layup made it 49-47 Billikens, and Kemph drilled a 3-pointer for a 52-49 lead.

• A 6-0 run put the Tigers on top 55-52, but another Kemph trey created the fourth tie of the quarter with 4:59 left.

• Raigyne Louis hit a jumper at the 4:03 mark that gave LSU the lead for good, and the Tigers’ active defense limited the Billikens to four points the rest of the way.

BILLIKEN NOTABLES

• Saint Louis earned a 37-34 advantage on the boards, including 12 offensive rebounds.

• The Billikens made nine 3-pointers, giving them 20 in two South Point Shootout games.

• Covington finished with nine points.

• Maddison Gits had eight points and seven rebounds.
