Saint Louis outside hitter Danielle Rygelski has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference volleyball Player of the Week. It is her fifth weekly honor of the season and the third week in a row she has earned the accolade.

Rygelski led the Billikens to a 2-0 weekend, recording 5.29 kills per set, 3.14 digs per set and 1.14 aces per set. She recorded double-doubles in both matches and now has 12 double-doubles this season. Against Duquesne on Friday, Rygelski tallied 23 kills and 11 digs while hitting .314. It is the ninth time this season she has recorded 20+ kills while hitting .300 or better. On Sunday against La Salle, Rygelski recorded 14 kills and 11 digs to lead SLU to a sweep.

Rygelski has moved into second on SLU’s all-time kill list. She now has 1,804 kills in her four-year career. With 31 more kills, Rygelski will surpass Colleen Hunter (1,834) for the most kills recorded by a Billiken in the rally-scoring era (2001-present).

The Billikens (12-12, 7-2 A-10) take on conference-leader Dayton on Friday in Dayton, Ohio. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
